The Highland Language Centre was founded in 1985 by Ian Carus B.Phil.(TEFL) and his wife Myra Carus MA(TESOL).

They both have over 30 years experience teaching English as a Foreign Language. 

They have worked in the German State Education System, for the British Council in the Middle East , for an international bank in Germany and almost 25 years in the UK. 

They have been involved in organising and teaching a wide variety of business courses.

They have specialised in one-to-one work with all levels of language learners from beginners to fluent speakers.

They are keen golfers , whisky aficionados and have a wide knowledge of the local area.
